Few Steps To Ensure Healthy Oral Hygiene For Kids- CompleteSmiles

As they mature, your baby’s teeth, gums, and jaw develop – if all goes well, they will all be healthy and function

normally when they are adults. But tooth decay and other problems can derail that development and lead to

oral health issues later in life.

Following these  guidelines now during your child’s early years will help ensure a healthy future

for their teeth and gums.

Initiate  Oral hygiene in early age-

There is no need to wait for your child to have their first teeth to begin regular oral hygiene.

Use clean wet cloth for wiping there gums after every meal To reduce bacterial growth, this way their gums

remain clean and healthy. Start brushing as soon as the teeth come out – use a small smear of toothpaste with the brush .

As they mature, teach them to brush and floss on regular bases by themselves.

Check your water.

Most utilities add small traces of fluoride to their drinking water supplies. If your water supplier does,

it can make a big difference (with fluoride toothpaste) to help your child avoid tooth decay.

If your system does not.

Then talk to your dentist if your child can benefit from topical fluoride applied directly to their teeth.

Excessive sugar is bad-

The decaying bacteria thrives on sugar which is added to processed foods, candies and many beverages.

Certain milk forms or formulations of sugar such as lactose present in milk may stimulate bacterial growth.

Also, in addition to daily brushing and flossing, do your best to minimize sugar intake in  your child’s diet.

And do not put infants or children to bed with a bottle filled with any liquid other than water.

Visit the dentist on regular intervals-

Start regular dental visits when your child is one year old. This will help in keeping your child’s dental

development on track.

This will also be an opportunity for preventive treatment against any dental issues ,

and you will be able to detect in very early stage if there are any signs of bite problem and if so  your dentist

can address it in a early stage so that there will be no impact in future and keep your child oral hygiene at its best.

So by regular visits to the dentist you will be able to address any dental issues in early stages and your child dental

health wont get off track . But by partnering with your dentist bella Vista , you can help ensure that your child’s

teeth and gums remain bright and healthy in coming years.
